China RoHS

Ministry of Information Industry Order #39

Effective 3/1/07, phase #1 of the new China RoHS Order #39 became effective. This order is designed to control pollution from electronic information products. While there are many similarities to the European Directive 2002/95/EC, they are quite different in their approach to controlling the 6 elements and compounds common to many current global efforts.

Some of the main areas where the approach differs from the European Directive include;

  • Scope
  • Exemptions (None Allowed)
  • Label, marking and disclosure requirements
  • Responsibilities
  • Material Testing
  • Packaging

Amphenol Connex is prepared to assist and support requirements from end product suppliers who export EIP into China. Customers unsure what they must provide with their products into the China market should review the Order #39 as well as the 4 attached procedures to acquire a better understanding of the current requirements.
